National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

On January 9th, Chief Kevin Reading had the honor of visiting Ms. Papp and Mrs. Hoschek’s 4th grade class, where students learned all about police work, asked thoughtful questions, and showed their appreciation in the best way possible by creating a special thank-you poster just for him. Moments like these remind us why community connections matter. Thank you to Miss Papp and her amazing students for the warm welcome and kind words.

Chief Kevin Reading would like to give a special shout-out to Officer George and Officer Tom, who were surprised with an amazing “Thank You” poster from Mrs. Krisak’s class and Mrs. O’Boyle’s class that was signed by every student! Your thoughtfulness and kindness put a huge smile on both officers’ faces. Thank you so much for your support. Officer George and Officer Tom do an outstanding job every day, and we are grateful for all they do for our students.

Welcome to LTPD

Chief Kevin Reading and the entire Lawrence Township Police Department proudly congratulate Officer Keyon Taylor #279 and Officer Anthony DiTorrice #280 on their graduation from the Cape May County Police Academy. Officer Taylor was officially sworn in as a member of the Lawrence Township Police Department on July 29, 2025. Officer DiTorrice was hired by Lawrence Police in December while already attending the academy through the alternate route program. Both officers were members of Academy Class 59 and proudly graduated on Friday, January 9, 2026. Chief Reading, along with members of the Lawrence Township Police Department Command Staff, were honored to attend the graduation ceremony in support of these officers as they reached this important milestone.
