PUBLIC NOTICE: Special Meeting - Lawrence Neighborhood Center RFP Discussion

Monday, June 8th

Main Meeting Room at Town Hall


The purpose of the meeting is to allow for public discussion regarding the future use of the Lawrence Neighborhood Center and final considerations for the Request for Proposals.


Please note: No formal vote or official action will be taken at this meeting.


Residents are encouraged to attend and provide final input before the RFP is finalized and presented to Council for formal consideration at the regular June Council meeting.

Lawrence Township Master Plan Meeting

Thursday, June 11th

Join us at 7:00pm at the Lawrence Senior Center - 30 E Darrah Lane. This public information and comment meeting is your opportunity to: Hear an update on the status of the Master Plan, Ask questions of the panel, Share public comment on the direction of our township.


How it works: Sign in at the meeting if you'd like to speak. Speakers will be called in sign-in order and will have 5 minutes each. The panel may respond depending on the content of your comment, and not every question can be answered on the spot.

Safety Town

NOW OPEN TO FIRST GRADE


Students are taught how to create safe situations for them in everyday life. There will be visits by police, fire, EMT and different fun-filled experiences for the students. The staff will instruct the students about safety around the home, fire safety, how to make a 911 emergency telephone call and many other invaluable safety lessons.

Dog Licensing

Don’t forget to license your dog!

Animal Control is contacting more than 500 dog owners with delinquent licenses. Beginning June, summonses may be issued for unlicensed dogs.

A $9 late fee is currently in effect, and rabies vaccinations must be valid through November 2026.

For questions about your application or your dog’s rabies expiration, please contact the Clerk’s Office.

Police Department

Special Olympics Torch Run

Lawrence Township Police Department and FOP Lodge #209 raised more than $1,000 for the 43rd Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting Special Olympics New Jersey.

Thanks to the generosity of community partners, officers, employees, and their families, these funds will help support Special Olympics athletes across the state.

On June 5th, members of LTPD participated in a 4-mile leg of the Torch Run, which concluded at The College of New Jersey and marked the start of the 2026 Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games.

David Brearley Fun Run

Come celebrate the birth of David Brearley - American Founding Father and signer of the Constitution - by participating in a fun run (or walk!).

This scenic, out-and-back 5K course begins at his historic home, the Brearley House (built in 1761), and follows the Delaware & Raritan Canal to the Port Mercer Canal House (built in the 1830s).

Mortgage Assistance

The Emergency Rescue Mortgage Assistance (ERMA) program provides financial assistance to eligible homeowners who have experienced a significant decrease in income or increase in expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


To qualify for assistance, a homeowner must:

• Own and occupy an eligible one to four-unit primary residence.

• Have experienced a COVID-19 related financial hardship, and have been unable to remain current on mortgage payments.

• Meet household income limits.

• Have been current on mortgage and property taxes as of January 2020.

With funding from Mercer County Department of Human Services Office on Aging, Rise, A Community Service Partnership, will provide 5,000 BTU Air Conditioning Units for Mercer County low-income seniors and/or adults who have a disability.
