Accreditation Assessment

On Monday, January 5th, the Lawrence Township Police Department hosted its final on-site accreditation assessment conducted by a team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). Accreditation is valid for a three-year period during which time the agency must submit annual reports attesting to their continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited. During this assessment, the team reviewed all aspects of the department, including our policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The department’s accreditation process was led by Lieutenant Michael Whitmore and Sergeant Dylan McClister whose hard work was evident throughout.

Welcome to LTPD

Chief Kevin Reading and the members of the Lawrence Township Police Department proudly congratulate Denis Hickey, Jakob Magner, and Raul Perez, who were officially sworn in and will be attending the Cape May County Police Academy beginning January 26, 2026.This is an exciting first step in their law enforcement careers, and we wish them the very best as they take on the challenges ahead.
