Police Department

Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Last April, officers across NJ ticketed nearly 7,000 drivers for cellphone use. This year, we’re joining the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety to increase distracted driving enforcement for the national #PutThePhoneAwayOrPay campaign to prevent crashes and tragedies.
Our officers have been actively involved in stopping distracted drivers since this campaign began on April 1st. Please help us keep the roads of Lawrence Township safe by eliminating distracted driving!

HERO Campaign

Chief Kevin Reading joined the NJ Chiefs of Police briefing honoring Bill Elliot and the 25th Anniversary of John’s Law, a leading DUI prevention statute. Lawrence Township’s HERO patrol vehicle was on display, and Bill Elliot posed with Chief Reading and Officer Na’Air Campbell. We thank the HERO Campaign for promoting designated drivers and saving lives nationwide.
